Her mother’s name is Snehlata, and her father is Shankar, in addition, Madhuri has two sisters – Rupa and Bharati – and brother Ajit. As a child, Madhuri did not dream of a career as an actress or dancer, which did not prevent her from doing kathak . And only after receiving a bachelor ‘s degree , Madhuri finally thought about the career of an actress. Madhuri is one of the few Bollywood actresses of the 80s who received a full school education and also has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology.
Career
In 1986 , she accepted the offer of Rajshri Productions to star in the film Abodh. The picture failed, Madhuri went unnoticed and was forced to star in tiny roles and dance numbers
. One of these roles was given to her by the director Ghai in the film Karma ( 1986. Madhuri received `Uttar Dakshin ‘. Madhuri starred in another Ghai movie `Ram Lakhan ‘( 1988 ), which promised to be her first hit . But the actress managed to conquer the audience a little earlier, appearing in the clockwork dance number of Ek, do, teen in N. Chandra’s `Tezaab ‘. Tezaab ‘, not `Ram Lakhan’ abruptly turned the career of the actress. And now the Bollywood sharks really drew attention to a talented girl. The 90s were the happiest period in the work of Madhuri. In 1990
, Dil came out, bringing her the first Filmfare for Best Actress. The duet with Indra Kumar was happy for Madhuri – their collaborative films Beta ( 1991 ), who brought in the second Filmfare, and Raja ( 1995 ) became hits. After Raja, the film is far from ideal and saved only by Madhuri, she received the nickname “Woman Amitabh Bachchan.” And in 1994 , the film “Who am I for You” / Hum Aapke Hain Koun was released, so far considered the largest blockbuster of Indian cinema. In 1997 , two films were released at once, which returned Madhuri to its former glory. `Mrityudand` Prakasha Jha, perhaps, did not become a super hit, but he clearly proved that Madhuri is still a mischievous girl from` Tezaab`. And then “Crazy Heart” by Yash Chopra came out. The film became the highest grossing film in 1997, and Madhuri again received Filmfare for Best Actress.
Films released in 1998 -99 – Wajood, ‘Gajagamini’, Pukar, Engineer – were greeted with a bang by the public and finally strengthened Madhuri’s stellar status.
A year later, Madhuri again began acting in Bollywood. And one of the proposals that she accepted was the invitation of director Sanjay Lila Bhansali to play the role of courtesan Chandramukhi in the film “Devdas” / ‘Devdas’. The film was awarded an out-of-competition screening in Cannes, and the era of Indian cinema was divided into two parts – before and after Devdas.
In 2007 , the actress accepted the offer of Aditya Chopra, producer of Yash Raj Films, to star in the dance drama Aaja Nachle. In November last year, the film gathered a good box office.
