Biography
Jordana Brewster is an American actress with Brazilian roots, known to the general public for the Fast and the Furious franchise and several other Hollywood blockbusters.
Jordan was born in 1980 on April 26th. This momentous event took place in Panama, although after a couple of months the girl’s family moved to London. Jordan’s father, Native American Elden Brewster, worked in the field of banking investments, his mother, Brazilian Maria João, who endowed her daughter with sultry beauty and strong character, at that time worked as a professional fashion model.
When the girl was six years old, the family moved from the UK to Rio de Janeiro, to the birthplace of Mary. Already in Brazil, the younger sister of Jordana, Isabella Brewster, was born. There, the future actress first appeared on the stage, playing the first role in her life in a children’s dance show. In England, Jordana learned to speak English, in Brazil – in Portuguese.
Four years later, the Brewster family moved to America, having settled finally in New York, in Manhattan. Here Jordana received a brilliant education, studying at prestigious schools. First, she studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart Catholic School, then graduated from Professional Children’s School.
At school age, the girl participated in amateur performances, played in theatrical productions, and once she even got the role of Jesus Christ.
Career
Jordan Brewster played her first “adult” role as a schoolgirl at the age of 15 in the popular television series “All My Children” in 1995. This “soap opera”, one of the longest playing, served as a springboard in a great movie for many young actresses. Jordan, who then played in the TV series How the World Rotates, Nikki Manson, was no exception.
And yet, the turning point in the biography of the actress was the film of Robert Rodriguez “Faculty” of 1998. In this teenage fantasy thriller, Jordan was in the company of many already held stars and future celebrities, including Robert Patrick , Famke Janssen, Salma Hayek , Elijah Wood and other actors. The picture was followed by filming in Tommy Hilfiger commercials by almost the entire cast of the film and other attractive offers.
In parallel with the roles in the series and the big movie, Jordan did not forget about studying, because she promised her parents that the shooting would not prevent her from getting a decent education. She simply could not afford it: the whole family was proud of the girl’s grandfather, Kingman Brewster Jr., who had been President of Yale for several years.
The young actress attended acting classes and entered the university (naturally, at Yale), which she successfully completed in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree.
Films
Jordan became truly famous during her studies at the university. Having done away with television projects in 2001, Brewster starred in the film adaptation of the acclaimed book “The Invisible Circus” along with Cameron Diaz and Christopher Eccleston.
The next role was decisive in her acting career. The young actress could not even dream that the first part of The Fast and the Furious, where she starred in her second year at the university, would bring not only huge fees, but also tremendous fame to the entire cast.
The girl missed the second and third parts of the franchise, not wanting her career to interfere with her studies. But all the other parts of the legendary film about racing drivers were again shot with the participation of Brewster, who plays the charming Mia Toretto.
We can say that Jordana grew up with this film, because more than fifteen years have passed since the filming of the first release. Over the years, the girl managed to not just make friends with her colleagues on the set. Michelle Rodriguez , Vin Diesel and Paul Walker became practically her relatives, so close and long they knew each other.
but their relationship did not go beyond friendships. The girl was deeply shocked by the tragedy that claimed the life of Paul in 2013 , depriving her of a close friend and beloved colleague.
Following the first Fast and the Furious, other roles followed. So, in the same 2001, she starred in the romantic comedy “Spies” along with Sarah Foster and other actors. After some time, Jordana decided to return to television projects, and also played one of the main roles in the remake of the thriller “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.”
Personal life
The personal life of the actress has always been under the guns of cameras, such is the destiny of all celebrities. However, Jordana Brewster never hid her relationship with men, rightly believing that her novels only contribute to the growth of popularity and recognition as an actress.
So, a lot of noise made the girl’s romance with Mark Wahlberg . The couple met for more than two years, at one time there were even rumors that the actress was pregnant, but they were not confirmed.
A few years after breaking up with Mark Jordan, she met her future husband Andrew Form. It happened in 2005 on the set of the thriller Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, which was produced by Form.
