Childhood and youth
The Indian actor was born on January 7, 1967 in Tonka, Rajasthan. His parents gave him the beautiful name Sahabzadeh Irrfan Ali Khan, which over time had to be shortened for a career.
The Bollywood pet was brought up in a poor Muslim family, Begum and Jagirdar Khan. There was barely enough money for food and clothing, let alone leisure. If the situation was different, Irfan Khan could become not an actor, but an athlete, because in his youth he played cricket well and was even invited to the prestigious CK Nayudu Trophy. The tournament had to be skipped – the participation fee and travel expenses were too expensive for the family.
Irfan Khan’s art was inspired by actor and maternal uncle Mithun Chakraborty , who worked as a theater director in Jodhpur. By the time the time came to decide on the future profession, the young man was well known on the stage of his native Jaipur.
In 1984, Irfan Khan unexpectedly for the whole family received a scholarship to the National School of Drama in New Delhi, the heart of India. The glorious history of the Bollywood and Hollywood actor began with the departure from his father’s house.
Personal life
On February 23, 1995, Sutapa Sikdar, a screenwriter and also a graduate of the National School of Drama, became the wife of Irfan Khan. Both passionately wanted to have children, and soon their desire was realized: sons Babil and Aykhaan were brought up in the family. The latter followed in his father’s footsteps and became an actor.
