Bollywood star Mahesh Babu managed to conquer the hearts of spectators from all over the world. The man began his acting career at the age of 4. He has won several prestigious film awards and the title of one of the most successful Indian actors.

Mahesh Babu Ghattamaneni was born on August 9, 1975 in the Indian city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu state, into a large family of actor and director Krishna Ghattamaneni and his wife Indira Devi. Babu has 3 sisters – Majula, Padmavati, Priyadarshini and his older brother Ramesh, who also chose the acting path. Mahesh was a student of the local secondary school of St. Bedes, which he entered together with his future film colleague Karti Shivakumar.

Movies

The actor played his first role in the film at the age of 4. The project by director Dasari Narayana Rao, which also starred Mahesh’s brother Ramesh, was called Needa. 4 years later, the boy successfully passed a long casting in the film Poretem by Kodi Ramakrishna, in which he played the role of Krishna’s brother.

Since 1987, the aspiring actor starred in his father’s films, the first of which was the film Sankharavam. In another project, Koduku Diddina Kapuram, which came out 2 years later, Mahesh played a double role. In total, as a child actor, he took part in 7 pictures of Krishna. After filming at Anna Tammudu and Balachandrudu, Babu temporarily left his film work to concentrate entirely on his studies.

As a 24-year-old boy, Mahesh ended his career hiatus by starring in the movie “Prince # 1,” directed by Raghavendra Rao, alongside actress Preity Zinta . Filming in this film served as a good start for his creative biography, as a result of which the guy received the Nandi Award in the category “Best Male Debut” and the pseudonym Prince Mahesh.

The actor’s next project, titled “The Heir,” came out a year later and was a success in cinemas throughout Andhra Pradesh. Around the same time, the film “Vamsi”, directed by B. Gopal, was released. In it, Mahesh appeared together with his future wife Namrat Shirodkar.

In the early 2000s, Babu played alongside Sonali Bendre in the film The Truth Below, directed by Krishna Vamsi, which earned positive reviews from film critics and viewers. For his work, he won a special Nandi Award. The actor received exactly the same award in 2002 for his participation in the film “Sly Fox” by producer and director Paranji Jayant, where he played a cowboy.

Through the filming of the film, the filmmakers honored the legacy and memory of actor Krishna, the first Indian to play a cowboy in the first local western in 1971, Mosagallaku Mosagadu.

This was followed by work in the project “The One” together with actress Bhumika Chawla. The picture became important to Mahesh’s as yet not too extensive filmography and earned him the Filmfare Awards South for Best Actor. The series of awards did not end there – for his performance in the film “Truth” directed by Teji, the artist again won the Nandi award.

In 2004, he co-starred with Amish Patel in the film Suryi, produced by Babu’s sister Manjula. Another picture, released in the same year and becoming the second, in which Mahesh collaborated with Gunasekhar, called “Arjun” was created with the participation of his brother Ramesh and brought the actor another Nandi statuette.

In 2005, Mahesh paired up with Trisha Krishnan in the film Under the Gun, directed by Trivikram Srinivas. For his role in this project, the actor again earned the Nandi Award for Best Actor and a positive review from critics.

The artist’s next film, the crime thriller “Armed and Very Dangerous”, in which he played in tandem with Ileana de Cruz, became the highest grossing in Telugu and broke all previous records. The film was broadcast on big screens for over 100 days in 200 cinemas in the state and for over 25 weeks in 63.

“Armed and Very Dangerous” was successful not only throughout India, but also abroad. Mahesh earned the second Filmfare Awards South for this film. In another film of the same year directed by Gunasekhar called “The Soldier”, Trisha Krishnan again became the artist’s colleague.

In Surender Reddy’s crime melodrama “Atidi” about an orphan boy who killed his adoptive parents, Mahesh Babu appeared in the frame with the successful Indian actress Amrita Rao. After finishing shooting, he again decided to take a creative break for family reasons. But the man did not finally retire – during this period he continued to work on dubbing the 2008 film “Fun” with Pavan Kalyan in the title role.

In 2010, the actor returned to work in full. During this period, the film “Strength of the Spirit” was released on the big screens. The film was received ambiguously by critics, but, despite this, it collected a record box office for South Indian films abroad. A new record for the collection in India was set by the “Daring” tape. It became the top hit of the year for Telugu films.
